BACKGROUND In November 2020, a leading pharmaceutical company Novartis hosted an online workshop on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) as it is considered as an important policy tool towards achieving a sustainable universal health coverage. HTA serves as a guide for governments in selecting public funding on health technologies. As one of the countries with largest population in Asia, Indonesia has started its way towards a universal health coverage and aims to pursue 100% population coverage in 2024.

STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION Occam supported Novartis for the online workshop by mapping and inviting government officials as well as relevant healthcare institutions and industry players in the SEA region, preparing the necessary PR documents & materials, and acting as event management.

RESULT The online workshop was attended by over 50 participants, comprising national and local government officials, doctors and health workers, prominent healthcare institutions and industry players in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.
