SITUATION Global management consultancy AT Kearney published “Indonesia’s Energy Transition: A Case of Action” report mid-Q1 of 2019 which had difficulty attracting interest from the media in Indonesia due to its complex issue and complicated content, especially with little relationship with the media. AT Kearney reached out to Occam to establish relationship with friendly media outlets and create opportunity to elaborate the report’s content: the background, challenges, and potentials for Indonesia’s energy transition.
STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION Occam arranged a interview to profile AT Kearney Indonesia’s President Director. Occam arranged a media briefing for AT Kearney with 5-8 media outlets for a productive discussion. Occam studied the report and simplified the content for easier understanding on talking points and fact sheet. Occam advised to involve APINDO (Employer’s Association of Indonesia) in the media briefing, who contributed in the report development and a familiar organization with established relationship with the media.
RESULT SWA published the profile article on their Business Champions section. 7 media outlets attended the event including top tier publications Kompas, Tempo, SWA, Koran Sindo, Warta Ekonomi, Bisnis Indonesia and smaller publications.
